Introduction to the Board of Directors
Philipp Haas
Chairman
Philipp Haas has an in-depth track record of investing
in emerging markets spanning over twenty five years.
Mr. Haas has been a board member of a number of
listed emerging markets companies and an advisor to
Soros Fund Management and Sir John Templeton,
amongst others. In 1992, Mr. Haas established Haas
Consulting and served as the chief investment consultant
for emerging markets to GEM Global Equities Management
S.A. From 1987 to 1990, he worked as a stock analyst
and global investment consultant for the corporate
clients of Pictet & Cie in Geneva, and in 1990 joined
Bank Sarasin & Cie in Basle as an investment consultant.
From 1985 to 1987, Mr. Haas worked in the areas of
Eurobond syndication, primary market trading
transactions and international share issuance in First
Boston Corporation in New York and Credit Suisse First
Boston in London. Mr. Haas underwent professional
training at Zurich Cantonal Bank in Zurich, Rothschild
Bank and Gestifundo S.A. in Lisbon, Portugal. Mr. Haas
holds an MBA from the Business School for Economics,
Law and Business Administration of the University of
St. Gallen, Switzerland. |

Peter Baird
Director
Peter Baird has extensive experience in the medicalproducts
industry. Mr. Baird is the President of DJO
Incorporated, a medical-devices company based in
Vista, California. Prior to joining DJO's predecessor
company in October 2006, Mr. Baird served as a Principal
at McKinsey & Company, where he was one of the
leaders of the private-equity and healthcare practices.
At McKinsey, he concentrated on serving healthcare
clients on a wide range of strategic and transactional
issues, with a particular focus on growth strategies and
operational improvements for mid-sized medical device
and pharmaceutical companies. Mr. Baird graduated
from Stanford Business School with an MBA with high
distinction (Arjay Miller Scholar). He holds a Master of
Arts degree in Economics from the University of Cape
Town, and Bachelor of Arts degrees in Economics and
in Political Theory from Bates College. Mr. Baird is a
Chartered Financial Analyst.

Mesut Çetin
Director
Mr. Çetin is responsible for EastPharma's investment
activities. He is a project leader at GEM Global Equities
Management S.A., where he previously served as an
operations manager between 2005 and 2006, and was
responsible for monitoring all of the company's trading
activities and transactions. Mr. Çetin had previously
worked as a research analyst for GEM Global Equities
Management S.A. Mr. Çetin holds a Bachelor of Science
degree in Mathematics from the Bosphorus University
in Istanbul. |

John Coombe-Tennant
Director
Mr. Coombe-Tennant is the managing director of Port
Tennant Co Ltd. and responsible for the company's
equity and real estate investment operations. Prior to
joining Port Tennant, Mr. Coombe-Tennant worked for
the London and Hong Kong offices of Société Générale
between 1997 and 2001 where he specialized in global
emerging markets and UK financial institutions. Mr.
Coombe-Tennant worked for Jardine Fleming Securities
in equity and sales research between 1992 and 1997,
the Economist Intelligence Unit (as a banking consultant
between 1989 and 1991), Euromoney Publications (as
an assistant editor between 1988 and 1989) and
Cazenove & Co (as an associate director in the equity
fund management division between 1980 and 1987).
Mr. Coombe-Tennant holds a Bachelor of Arts degree
in English and American studies from the University of
East Anglia in the United Kingdom. |

Jurg Weber
Director
Mr Weber has led a number of major projects in the fields of restructuring, turnaround, shareholder value creation, revenue enhancement and profit growth.
Mr. Weber worked at McKinsey & Company in Zurich, Switzerland and Istanbul from 1994 - 1998, where he last served as Partner. During his time at McKinsey & Company he was engaged in numerous business improvement projects as well as in establishing the McKinsey office in Istanbul. Following the call of one of his clients to become the CEO of a young start up business, Jurg seven-folded the value of such venture within three years and gained in depth line management and corporate governance experience. He is now running his own consulting company focused on advisory, business building, management and M&A works in Turkey and other emerging market economies.
Mr. Weber holds an MBA from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylanvia and a Diploma in Civil Engineering from the School of Engineering in Zurich, Switzerland.

Christoph Sven Hoffmann
Independent Director
Mr. Hoffmann is an attorney and consultant specialized
in commercial law and in the establishment of
international distribution networks for consumer goods.
Mr. Hoffmann worked for Roche in Switzerland,
Argentina, Peru and as a Regional Manager of the
Pharmaceutical Division in Hong Kong between 1983
and 1991. Mr. Hoffmann holds a Licentiate of Law
degree from the University of Basel in Switzerland. |

Dr. Wolfgang Stoiber
Independent Director
Dr. Stoiber has significant international experience,
both as a pharmaceutical industry executive and as an
investment banker. Dr. Stoiber co-founded JSB-Partners,
a global transaction advisory firm specializing in life
sciences, in 1999. Prior to co-founding JSB-Partners,
Dr. Stoiber was with MPM Capital, where he built the
firm's transatlantic business. While at MPM, he initiated
and managed numerous cross-border transactions with
pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies, including
advising a German development agency with its task
of expanding the country's biotechnology industry.
Following his medical school training and military
service, Dr. Stoiber joined the medical marketing
organization of F. Hoffmann-LaRoche in 1985. He took
on a number of marketing assignments in Europe and
the United States before assuming general management
positions overseeing Roche's Austrian and French
pharmaceutical divisions. Dr. Stoiber holds a medical
degree from Ludwig-Maximilians-University, Munich
and an MBA degree from The Wharton School, University
of Pennsylvania. |
